About

This seems to be a pretty standard addition to any blog - the explanabrag section in which I tell you who I am and why I'm in any way deserving of blog-viewing attention.

Well, my name is Nicki, and I'm a graduate student interesting in video games, gaming culture, and the ways in which both of those intersect with gender and feminism. I have spent the better part of the last two years trying to nail down exactly what that means - so if you're at all confused by that, don't worry, so am I.

I am also in a long distance relationship between Ohio and California, and my partner and I play a great deal of video games together as a way of closing some of that distance.

The primary focus of this blog will be descriptive, as I detail the ways in which my partner and I navigate the few ways to hang out and have fun while a couple time zones apart. But interspersed throughout those entries will also be news articles or quirks of games or gamers that I'm just dying to talk about (as evidenced by the Dead Island post).

Enjoy!
